Manor Park Estates Master Plan

Long-term redevelopment vision that will contribute to housing affordability in the inner core of Ottawa.

Fotenn prepared a comprehensive Master Plan and long-term vision to redevelop 13.7 ha of lands located in the Inner Urban area of the City of Ottawa, known as Manor Park Estates. This Master Plan was developed with an integrated approach between urban planning, urban design, and landscape architecture aiming to transform the existing context into a sustainable, mixed-use, and livable community. This is achieved through the integration of quality open spaces and public realm improvements, as well as commercial and residential intensification, including innovative and sustainable affordable housing. Fotenn prepared the overall Site Development Options for the entire Manor Park Estates lands, including the creation of Urban Design Vision and Guiding Principles and establishing massing, built-form and the character Design Guidelines desired for the new neighbourhood using Urban Planning and Design Best Practices.

Fotenn also conducted a thorough Planning Policy and Regulatory Review of the lands and prepared the planning policy that incorporated the guidelines as part of the Area Specific Policy plan, supported by city staff and approved at Council. Throughout the Master Planning process, Fotenn prepared for and facilitated several public engagement sessions with Councillors, Community Associations, Manor Park Tenants and the general public.
