A sustainable, accessible, and compact development that celebrates the site’s natural heritage.

Fotenn is currently assisting Ruth Kane with the development strategy for her property at 540 King Street East in Cobourg, Ontario. The site is located at the eastern edge of the urban settlement area.

Fotenn has prepared multiple site plan options and is currently refining these options based on the Town’s comments. In the upcoming months we will also assist with all associated development approvals and consultant management.

Key components of the site plan concepts include:

• The conservation of the site’s historic home, barn and silos as an integral component of the new neighbourhood’s character;
• The development of a diverse, neighbourhood-scaled open space network that is sensitive to the site’s existing features;
• The enhancement of the King Street streetscape through building frontages;
• A simple street and block pattern with mid-block connection opportunities;
• The development of a neighbourhood with a diverse range of housing types.
