Zibi and Fotenn Recognized by the Ontario Professional Planners Institute’s Excellence in Planning Award
November 1, 2017
Together with partners, Windmill Development Group, Dream Unlimited Corporation, and Perkins + Will, Fotenn Planning and Design and the Zibi Master Plan has received the 2017 Excellence in Planning Award in the Urban/Community Design category from the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI). Zibi has also been awarded the OPPI and Heart and Stroke Foundation’s special joint Healthy Communities Award.
The Excellence in Planning Awards recognize innovation, creativity, professionalism, problem-solving, and communications in urban and community design, planning studies or reports, and public education. These are the best of the best in urban and rural planning across the Province. The Healthy Communities Award recognizes excellence in creating healthy communities. Zibi was selected for this prestigious award because of the number of ways in which the Zibi Master Plan will create and foster a community that is healthier and more sustainable.
The Master Plan for Zibi has previously been awarded an Award for Planning Excellence in the Neighbourhood Planning category from the Canadian Institute of Planners, and the Grand Prize Award for Excellence in Planning from the International Society of City and Regional Planners (ISOCARP).
