Alex is the Principal of Fotenn’s Natural Environment team, based in the Ottawa office. He brings over twenty years of professional experience as an Ecologist, with expertise in terrestrial and aquatic ecology, open space planning, natural heritage policy, impact assessment and mitigation, and ecological restoration. Alex has led multidisciplinary teams on a wide range of natural heritage projects, delivering context-sensitive solutions that enhance ecological function, protect sensitive features and species, and support the long-term sustainability of natural systems.

His project experience includes environmental impact studies, municipal and federal environmental assessments, Species at Risk permitting, wetland delineation, wildlife and natural heritage assessments, construction and post-construction monitoring, community design plans, and other projects related to land development and infrastructure planning.
